6 months and it could not go any further. Loose crank and jambs constantly. I initially could crank out #2 packs in 20 minutes - If I try using this I am looking at an hour +.

I have had the Top-O-Matic for about 20 months. It is a great machine that was well worth the $40 I paid for it. Easy and quick to use. I can roll 20 cigarettes (1 pack) in 10-15 minutes while watching TV. I typically roll while I watch an hour long show and can roll around 100 in that time. The one tip I would provide is this-the machine is made of all metal parts except for a hard plastic bushing that the crank goes through and a rubber tip used to hold the tubes in place. I recommend that, when you buy the machine, you buy 2 extra bushings and 2 extra rubber tips. This isn't because they wear out that often it is because the machine works so much better when you replace them that it is worth the small investment. The bushing is $2.50 and the rubber tip is $0.60 at a well known parts site.So for $6.20 plus shipping you are set for approx 2 years if you are like me. And I roll a lot of smokes between what I smoke and what I give to people trying to show them what they are missing out on!!

This is the second TOP machine we've used. The first one did not disappoint, so when it finally got worn out, we bought this one. Some improvements have been made to it. One of the reviews says it's nearly impossible to overfill the chamber, and it's true; cigarettes come out the same every time, not too hard, not too soft. Really easy to use. Can roll a pack of 20 in about 10 minutes, the wife can do it in 5. Would recommend the machine, and if this one ever wears out, wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I own a new TOM T-2 and it's a good machine. But nothing beats this original topomatic injector. It is a work horse that keeps on long after others have worn out. I bought the new T2 and eventually went back to this machine. I can't begin to tell you how many thousands of smokes I've rolled on it. Best bang for you dollar; bar none, and I've tried a few!

This is a definitely heavy duty machine (all metal) that is easy to fill and doesn't crumple the tubes due to design. Also a cool feature that isn't included in description: It's almost impossible to overfill a tube with this! I don't have to squeeze out tobacco from a rock hard cigarette anymore with this machine.

I've tried several different rolling machines in the last 6 years, the silver, gold, orange, and another brand of black one. Top-o-matic has consistently worked the best This one works better (for me) than the T-O-M T2 even. The one I have now, has been used to roll anywhere from 1 to 3 cartons a week (depending on the number of roommates) and has been in constant use for almost 3 years. It has performed well, with little maintenance. The first one I bought and used for a year, the handle's recoil spring broke. It still works just fine, the handle just has to be returned to the open position manually.

Very well built machine. Function is fast and reliable. You can crank em' out quick without worrying about messing up the components like you might with a plastic machine. It's also the easiest metal machine to clean that I've owned.

After many reviews, I decided to purchase the TOM and the reviews are true. The machine stuffs like a champ.
You get to know your machine and how it stuffs the tobacco, so overfilling is not a problem. Depending on the filter length, you'll get a carrot top from the 20 mm filter tips and an almost perfect smoke from the 17 mm filters. I keep a pair of scissors on my tray to cut the carrot tops off.
You have to clean it every so often, but that's easy enough. A Q-tip soaked in alcohol and just rub down the stuffing chamber and the spoon. Be careful with the spoon though... its sharp and will cut, so the Q-tip will keep your fingers out of the way.
I took another Q-tip and soaked it with WD40 to lubricate the mechanism under the rubber bottom, so she glides through stuffing now.
The TOM will let you know if you've overstuffed the chamber by the resistance when you crank it, but there's no way to clear it without going through the entire cycle. Now that I've been stuffing my own for a while, I've got this down to a science and I have no issues with working the TOM at all.
For me, it was worth every penny.
